Inside Sales Representative

We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to help drive leads to our sales team and directly work with smaller business customers to encourage web purchases of our leading online marketing and sales solution for small and medium-sized businesses. As part of the Marketing team, the position will report to the Senior Marketing Manager.


Summary
The Inside Sales Representative is in a unique role at Topica, working as part of the Marketing team in our lead generation efforts. This role involves heavy phone work, as you will help us grow our customer base in the online marketing marketplace. In addition, this team player will take on special projects like verifying enrollment for our special webinars, designed to educate small and mid-sized businesses on best practices in e-marketing. The ability to learn quickly and thrive in a growing, lively environment is essential.

This role is part of a small team in a start-up environment and the growth potential is unlimited! If you like to learn and take on new challenges, this is the position for you.

  • Qualify and educate web leads to generate real prospects for the Sales team
  • Work with smaller businesses directly to convince them to sign-up for a free trial of our application and to then purchase online
  • Identify and reach decision makers within organizations in an effort to identify needs
  • Achieve 50 - 60 calls per day to achieve the above goals

Requirements
  • 1+ years sales experience; preferably in the high-technology sector with a heavy emphasis on inside phone sales
  • Ability to function independently and with a team throughout the sales process
  • Demonstrated prior success in cold calling and generating leads for sales teams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Experience prospecting at the executive/owner level
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, self-managed and results-oriented
  • Must be outgoing, reliable and upbeat and adaptable to various situations
  • Familiar in managing a sales pipeline

Additional preferences
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • An understanding of Application Software Providers (ASPs) and how they work
