Director of Media Services and Operations

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Director of Media Services and Operations whose responsibilities include aggressively growing our lead generation partner network by increasing publisher/partner pipeline, acquiring strong partner/publisher base, and working with marketing and technology to build and refine the needed platform, while effectively growing the business. The Director of Media Services and Operations will report directly to the SVP of Sales and Marketing.


  • Primary goal is to solidify current partners and expand reach through new partnerships
  • Lead a team of business development and media operations specialists
  • Identify, pitch, structure, negotiate and close large, strategic, revenue-generating relationships with publishing and media partners.
  • Drive partnership issues to successful closure cross-functionally within Topica, including Legal, Finance, support and operations.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with media partners by understanding their needs and business objectives
  • Develop creative packages to increase revenue opportunities for partners
  • Track, report, monitor and communicate performance of each partnership
  • Work closely with sales force and understand client's needs to maximize partner network effectiveness.
  • Create fulfillment calendars & tracking systems
  • Work with Marketing and Sales to establish rates and margin goals
  • Optimize overall campaign execution to create the best results for marketers;
  • Work hand in hand with marketing and finance analysts and monitor performance of major publishers/advertisers on the partner network as a whole.
  • Continue to create a more efficient lead development process
  • Work closely with the product and technology teams to build a Lead Distribution system to include an expanded partner network to support our SMB client base
  • Define new Lead Generation services and sources
  • Improve existing products and services
  • Communicate the value to partners and customers
  • Educate the market and the sales and marketing teams

  • BA/BS and 5+ years of related partner or business development experience.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating complex Internet deals.
  • Expansive understanding of online lead generation and advertising industry (metrics, trends, players, challenges, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Outstanding sales skills (persuasiveness, composure, diplomacy.)
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management within Topica.
